KleioVentures
One of KleioVentures' subsidiaries required multiple web sites, web stores, transaction processing, shipping and automated order provisioning to enable the start-up business. The subsidiary, a retailer of Coffee products, launched in conjunction with the DailyBuzz TV show. This partnership gave them national-wide exposure to 3 million morning viewers on a daily basis.
Special consideration was given to finding a hosting partner and the correct eCommerce engine due to the potential for a high traffic volumes. In addition a solution that can scale, handle complex configurations and yet be maintained without a dedicated technical team.
Solution
For the eCommerce component Magento was selected. It is a mid-sized web store which is a professional solution (customization, templates, integration to 3rd parties, robust, supported and complete). The deployment of the store included:
- Megento 1.8 community edition
- Hosted by Hostgator (not shared hosting)
- Addition of professionally designed template
- Development of products, catalogs, pricing matrix, special offers, etc.
- Linked via Authorize.Net for credit card transactional processing
- Shipping modules for UPS and USPS - including live tracking
- Automated extract of orders for fulfillment via coffee roaster
- Marketing materials, promotions and discount scheme
Aside from the store web site, additional sites were created for the corporate home page, landing pages for the TV show links, and special sites for promotional giveaways (such as large screen TVs, etc.)
